Guiding Souls on Their Journey
Born and raised in the vibrant streets of New York City, Rev. Richard Pacheco’s life has been a tapestry of growth, resilience, and service. In his time in NYC, he has worked in various positions including as a civilian agent for the NYCPD, and a Program Specialist in computer literacy for Madison Square Boys and Girls Club. He also facilitated a martial arts program in various NYCHA community centers so every person could participate without concern for financial burden. In 2001, he landed a position with a company that specializes in hardware and software technical support for sales representatives of a large pharmaceutical client. He reached many levels of management within the company which allowed him to showcase his leadership skills.
A Turning Point
After the life-altering events of 9/11, Richard found himself in New Jersey, following his company formerly located a few blocks from the World Trade Center. It was there that he stumbled upon a home business, igniting his personal development journey. But fate had more in store for him.
The Wake-Up Call
During a critical medical procedure, Richard faced mortality head-on. The fragility of life hit him like a lightning bolt, urging him to strive for excellence. His quest for self-improvement transformed into a profound spiritual calling. He then followed the same company to Pennsylvania which then left him searching for even more. After a few years, he found himself laid off and moving on to a web hosting company which continued to enhance his technical skills in web design, hosting email management, leadership, and interpersonal skills. While in Pennsylvania he also helped sponsor a program known for giving personal development books focused on teens. Richard sponsored an event for teens utilizing the “Success for Teens” book and found it not only inspired the teens in the program but their parents as well. Yet he still yearned to do more and wanted a way to serve his fellow man.
Unity: The Next Chapter
An audio lesson by Randy Gage introduced Richard to Unity—a path that resonated deeply. Over the next 12 years, he served Unity of NEPA in various roles: speaker, webmaster, social media master, sound and video technician, and program planner. His dedication led him to become an ordained Unity Minister. He has also served on his board as VP and president until the time he took off to focus on his ordination and continued service to the ministry.
As an extension of his service, he volunteered to do the newsletter for Unity Urban Ministerial School. In 2016, he was invited to become the webmaster for UUMS, and that has grown into becoming a full-time staff member. Since being hired, he has participated in the creation of the UUMS school video with his other classmates. His duties have included various media projects. Most recently, he has become the creator and host of UUMS Anointed Radio.
Healing and Empowerment
Richard’s journey extended beyond ministry. He delved into holistic practices, becoming a Reiki Master Teacher in the Usui Tradition, Certified Teenage Meditation Teacher, Ho’oponopono Certified Practitioner, Meditation Teacher Certification holder, and Sound Healing Certified. These tools allowed him to touch lives and facilitate healing.
Coaching and Compassion
Acknowledging his support, Richard pursued certifications as a Master Life Coach, Certified Spiritual Coach, and a Forgiveness Coach with trauma-informed enhancement. His vision? To guide others on their paths while continuing his own.
His journey took him from New York to New Jersey to Pennsylvania. Through a turn of events that he sees as a divine gift, he now resides with his wife of 22+ years and four children in Martinsburg, WV.
He continues to be a student, earning his Advanced Metaphysical Certification with UUMS, a bachelor’s degree in metaphysics, and working toward his master’s with the University of Sedona. He recently earned both beginner and advanced-level certifications for the new AI ChatGPT focus, all to share with others to enhance their knowledge and encourage growth in their communities.
